Incheon Airport to Seoul (2026): AREX Express vs All-Stop vs Limousine Bus vs Taxi, With Official Fares
You land at Incheon, clear immigration, collect your bag, and walk out into the arrivals hall. Seoul is about 50–60 km away, and you have four realistic ways to get there: the AREX Express train, the cheaper all-stop AREX train, an airport limousine bus, or a taxi. Every travel site has a comparison table, but most of them are a year or two old, and the prices in them no longer match what you will pay.
So we took the numbers straight from the operators. On October 27, 2026 we read the fare pages of the Airport Railroad (AREX), the Airport Limousine bus company and the Incheon Airport taxi guide, and checked their latest notices. There are a few things in those notices you will not find in older guides, including more Express trains from October 23 and bus detours on November 1.
• Staying near Seoul Station, or want a guaranteed seat → AREX Express, ₩13,000, 43 min from Terminal 1.
• Staying near Hongdae, Gongdeok or anywhere on the subway, travelling light, on a budget → AREX all-stop, ₩4,750 from Terminal 1 to Seoul Station with a transit card.
• Hotel in Myeongdong, Gangnam, Jamsil or near a limousine stop, with big suitcases → limousine bus, ₩17,000.
• Three or four people, lots of luggage, or arriving late at night → taxi from the official taxi stand.
Option 1: AREX Express train
The Express runs non-stop between Incheon Airport and Seoul Station. According to the AREX fare page, the trip takes 43 minutes from Terminal 1 and 51 minutes from Terminal 2. The adult fare is ₩13,000 (children aged 6–12: ₩9,500). The page also lists a "regular" fare of ₩18,500–₩19,100, but the ₩13,000 fare is what is charged in practice. Partner travel sites sell slightly cheaper online-only tickets; discounts cannot be combined.
Every seat is reserved, there is free Wi-Fi ("AREX Free Wi-Fi") and a luggage area, and on the way back to the airport an Express ticket lets you use the City Airport Terminal at Seoul Station.

How to buy: at the orange ticket machines or the Express Train customer centre on basement level 1 of the Transportation Center at either terminal, or online/in the AREX app. Machines and the online shop accept foreign Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Diners, AMEX and UnionPay cards; online you can also use Alipay and WeChat Pay. A T-money card does not pay for the Express; you need a ticket.
New since October 23: AREX added four more Express trains a day, going from 52 to 56 runs. The extra trains run between 11:00 and 18:00, cutting the average gap in that window from 39 to 35 minutes. AREX said the 15:00-hour trains from the airport to Seoul Station were 98.7% full on average in September, so if you land in the afternoon, buying a ticket in advance is a good idea.
Hours: on weekdays the first Express from Terminal 2 leaves at 05:16 (Terminal 1 at 05:24) and the last leaves Terminal 2 at 22:40 (Terminal 1 at 22:48), arriving at Seoul Station at 23:31. If your flight lands after about 21:30, the Express may be gone by the time you are through immigration.
Option 2: AREX all-stop train (the cheapest)
The all-stop train uses the same line but stops at every station. It is an ordinary commuter train with bench seats and no luggage racks to speak of, and it is the cheapest way into the city. Its great advantage is the stops: Gimpo Airport, Magongnaru, Digital Media City, Hongik University (Hongdae), Gongdeok and Seoul Station, each connecting to other subway lines.

Official fares with a T-money or other transit card (adults):
| To | From Terminal 1 | From Terminal 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Seoul Station | ₩4,750 | ₩5,350 |
| Gongdeok / Hongik Univ. (Hongdae) | ₩4,650 | ₩5,250 |
| Digital Media City | ₩4,550 | ₩5,150 |
| Gimpo Airport / Magongnaru | ₩4,350 | ₩4,950 |
A single-journey ticket costs ₩100 more, plus a ₩500 deposit you get back at the end. If you have a T-money card, tap in at the blue gates; if not, buy one at the convenience store in the arrivals hall first (see our T-money guide). Expect roughly an hour to Seoul Station.

Worth knowing in October 2026: the AREX labour union began a "work-to-rule" action on October 12, and AREX posted a delay notice for all-stop trains on October 14. The company says it is monitoring delays and crowding and will post changes on its website. It is not a strike, and trains are running, but allow some extra time if you have a connection to make.
Option 3: Airport limousine bus
The limousine buses are comfortable coaches with a luggage hold. The driver loads your suitcase, you sit down, and the bus drops you at major hotels and stations across Seoul. That door-to-door convenience is the reason to take one. The Airport Limousine company's fare table is simple:

Read the company's passenger guidelines before you board, because they differ from what many visitors expect:
- Pay with cash or a transit card (T-money or a Korean postpaid card). Credit cards are generally not accepted on board.
- Climate Card and Discover Seoul Pass are not accepted.
- No reservations. It is first come, first served; if the bus is full, you wait for the next one.
- Arrive at the stop 2–3 minutes early, and trust the company's own timetable over the arrival times in Naver or Kakao maps.
- Going back to the airport, tell the driver T1 or T2 when you board so your bag goes in the right place.
November 1, 2026: the company has announced non-stop bypasses and temporary detours on routes 6001, 6002, 6005, 6011, 6013 and 6015 for that day. If you are travelling on November 1, check the notice on airportlimousine.co.kr for which stops are skipped.
Find your route number by searching your hotel's area on the airport's bus guide or the operator's route page, and buy at the ticket counter in the arrivals hall or pay on board.
Option 4: Taxi
Incheon Airport's official taxi guide lists the standard taxi base fare as ₩4,800, then charges by distance and time on the meter. Three details from that guide matter:
- Use the official stands. For Seoul-bound standard taxis: 5C, 6C or 6D at Terminal 1 and 7C at Terminal 2. The airport warns that "call vans posing as taxis" solicit passengers illegally and overcharge; do not follow anyone who approaches you inside the hall.
- No boundary surcharge to Seoul. Seoul, Incheon and some Gyeonggi taxis share the airport, so a ride from Incheon Airport to Seoul has no out-of-city surcharge.
- Night surcharge: for Seoul taxis, 20% from 22:00 to 23:00, 40% from 23:00 to 02:00, and 20% from 02:00 to 04:00.
How much in total? The airport does not publish a set fare. Using Seoul's meter rates (₩100 per 131 m after the base fare), a 60 km daytime ride works out to roughly ₩50,000 on distance alone, before time spent in traffic and expressway tolls. Treat that as a floor, not a quote. Foreigner-oriented International Taxi services (stand 4C at T1, 3C at T2) charge a flat fare into Seoul and have drivers who speak English, Japanese or Chinese; book through their own websites.
Arriving late at night
If you land after the last trains, your options are a taxi or the airport's late-night buses (N-numbered routes such as N4000 and N7000 series). Routes and stops change, so check "Late-night Bus" on the Incheon Airport website (airport.kr) before you fly, and confirm the route reaches your area. Many late arrivals simply take a taxi; with the night surcharge, a group of three or four often pays less per person than expected.
Quick comparison
| Cost (adult) | Time to Seoul Station | Pay with | |
|---|---|---|---|
| AREX Express | ₩13,000 | 43 min (T1), 51 min (T2) | Ticket (foreign cards OK) |
| AREX all-stop | ₩4,750 (T1), ₩5,350 (T2) | About 1 hour | T-money or single ticket |
| Limousine bus | ₩17,000 | Depends on route and traffic | Cash or T-money |
| Taxi | Meter; roughly ₩50,000+ before tolls | Depends on traffic | Card or cash |
Quick answers
Can I use T-money on the Express? No. Buy an Express ticket. T-money works on the all-stop train and the limousine bus.
Which terminal am I at? It depends on your airline, not your country. Check your boarding pass; Terminal 2 is further out, so its trains and fares are slightly longer and higher.
Where do I go after Seoul Station? Seoul Station connects to subway Lines 1 and 4 and to KTX trains. For walking directions from the station to your hotel, use Naver Map; our Naver Map in English guide shows how to avoid the most common search mistake.
